After breast feeding 2 children, this 24 year old mom from San Diego, CA was interested in achieving more of a “perkier” look with the help of  breast surgery.

The patient expressed to Dr. Pousti that she was very uncomfortable with the position of her nipple/areola (the saggy breasts) and wanted more upper fullness.

In order to move the nipple/areola higher on her chest wall and give the patient the ‘perky’ look she desired, Dr. Pousti recommended a mastopexy, also known as a breast lift, as well as breast implants for the fullness on top. Measurements of the patient’s breasts are taken several times prior to surgery  so that Dr. Pousti can discuss the procedure in detail with the patient.  Markings are performed the night prior to surgery and the specific procedure of breast enhancement and lifting surgery is discussed again with the patient.  As you can see below, the red “x” indicate where the new nipple/areola complex will be.

Before any incisions are made a ‘Taylor-Tacking‘ technique is used (see below). Taylor tacking helps Dr. Pousti visualize the potential results before making incisions and this assists him in making sure that not too large of an implants is placed (for this specific patient) which would cause too much tension the incision line.

Temporary sizers are set in place to determine the size of the breast implant that will be used. The patient is then placed in an upright position on the operating room table to ensure as much symmetry as possible and that her breast size will be satisfactory (as Dr. Pousti will compare her to the “goal photos” the patient had previously brought in). Adjustments are made in regards to size and pocket dissection at this time if needed.

To achieve what the patient was looking for, Dr. Pousti place 492cc Silicone Gel Implants in each breast.

Talk about full circle…

I began my plastic surgery adventure by reading many of the testimonials on Dr. Pousti’s website.  Now here I am, six months later, lucky enough to share my thoughts and opinions on such an amazing doctor.

At the beginning of my search, I was still undecided whether I just wanted a breast lift or a tummy tuck in conjunction with the lift.  The several doctors I interviewed prior to Dr. Pousti pressured me to do both procedures.  I knew I had found the right doctor when the exact opposite happened when I spoke with Dr. Pousti.  He urged me to consider the benefits of both procedures but did not pressure me in any way.  In other words, he wanted what was best for ME – not best for his bank account!

In the end, I chose to do both procedures and on March 1, 2011, I had my mommy-makeover (a tummy tuck and a breast lift).  And while surgery is never easy, his office and the surgery center he uses, gave us all the information we needed to ensure post-op success.  Everything from setting us up with a nurse to come home with us, to providing the appropriate medicine to make me comfortable, to calling every day to check on us – all things to make my surgery as easy as possible.

Due to no fault of Dr. Pousti, I encountered a minor set-back when I developed an infection in my abdominal incision site.  Here’s where Dr. Pousti and his staff distinguished themselves as exceptional care-givers.  The follow up care and concern for my well-being gave me peace of mind that everything was going to be ok… and it was!  I had a beautiful result and will never regret having the work done.

Had my surgical procedure gone perfectly, this would have been a great experience.  Based on their care and response to my complications, I now feel like this chapter in my life was extraordinary.  I continue to be a loyal patient using other services his office offers, knowing that whatever I need to do, it will be handled with the utmost expertise and great care.

This 47-year old patient from Rancho Santa Fe, California (San Diego County) was interested in breast augmentation and breast lift surgery.

The patient researched for a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who is experience in mommy makeovers and found Dr. Pousti on the Internet after reading excellent reviews. The patient met with Dr. Pousti in his La Jolla office to discuss her surgery.

The patient expressed in detail she was unhappy with asymmetry of her breasts, she felt  that her left breast was smaller than her right breast. The patient also wanted a lift to create fullness and to only fill the volume, which was lost from pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Understanding her concerns for symmetry, in order to achieve her desired look, smooth, round, moderated plus profile silicone-gel implants were used, 525cc in the left breast and 500cc in the right breast for symmetry correction.

The night prior to surgery, Dr. Pousti and the patient met to discuss the procedures in detail and to perform “markings”.  These markings allow Dr. Pousti to discuss where the incisions will be with the patient.

Pregnancies take a whole toll on your body, this 26 year old patient from San Diego, California was very unhappy with the appearance of her labia minora. Before the final incision are made, the doctor uses a tailor-tacking technique to ensure symmetry and prevent multiple incisions. During the tailor tacking a sizer is set in place to determine the size of implant needed to meet the patient’s size goals.

A 492cc Silicone Gel Implant was used in the patients left breast and a 457cc Silicone Gel Implant was used in the patient’s right breast to ensure symmetry.

The patient is post op breast augmentation/mastopexy with Silicone Gel Implants, Abdominoplasty and liposuction of the flank and back area and is very happy with her new body.
